Artist: Crossing Point

Bio Edit this bio

Passion is not a word you hear all that often any more when it comes to music, but Crossingpoint has it by the tractor-load. They’re not making music to be famous, or because it’s a good career. They’re making music because they need to, because it’s etched somewhere deep in their souls.
Few dare to test the boundaries, to step outside the accepted and cut their own path in a crowded scene. The band is made up of close friends first and foremost who enjoy making a noise with unbridled pride in their musicianship.

Formed in 1998, Crossingpoint is a shining example of the determination, hard work ethic and do-it-yourself values so characteristic of the bands punk rock roots…using those traits to turn setbacks into starting blocks. Today, these four guys from Durban pump out a spine chilling breed of positive, progressive, and energetic metallic hardcore.

These days heavy music is slowly being embraced by a wider audience, and many bands have watered down their lyrics to suit the potential of a larger audience. Where it used to be about an uncompromising message in response to societal problems, these days it seems to mostly be about the sound, with any sort of message being secondary. Crossingpoint however have stayed true to their roots by playing creative, energy-driven music with a insightful spiritual message that demands application.

We put out the message that there is hope and you can have faith. Everyone has been through crazy times and our faith is what gives us comfort, peace, and strength.

“For almost a decade Crossingpoint has been at the forefront of the hardcore scene in South Africa. Their positive sounds and awesome stage presence have inspired many kids to do the windmill and all sorts of other funny dance moves which those hardcore kids love to do. These guys are awesome and they’re easy to relate to on stage and off. A friend of mine once said that when you sing about something you love it is much more powerful than singing about something you hate, and being passionate and real about their faith Crossingpoint have spoken the truth, in love, into many people’s lives.”
- Utami Rostoll, Deputy Editor - Truth Magazine

It’s hard to go to a Crossingpoint show and leave unchanged. Theirs is a power and a passion that few bands consistently achieve.
